Organizing

In order to, Build A Community That Works For All, the Heartland Workers Center focuses on three ares:

-Leadership Development

-Workers rights

-Civic Participation

The core strategies of the Heartland Workers Center are to find, train, develop and build relationships with leaders and organize them into core team of workers representing entry-level jobs from the construction, meatpacking, restaurant and cleaning industries.  These core teams of workers leaders organized themselves to form part of the Council of Workers.  The Council of Workers meet twice a month and discusses the issues that the workers experience promote and develop strategies to protect workers rights and take what they learn into action, action for change.
