The Heartland Workers Center works to promote and defend the rights of all workers by providing trainings and advocating for improved labor laws to provide greater protections for workers. In turn, the workers we train educate others, promote and defend those rights. Over the past year and a half, the HWC, has built a relationship with different labor agencies, government agencies and attorneys that have helped us in providing trainings and workshops to the Latino/a workers.
Some of the trainings that the HWC has done in the past include:
- Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
- Wage and Hour
- The Right to Organize
