South Omaha Organizations Commit to Promote Civic Engagement

Ten institutional organizations from the South Omaha community gathered on Thursday, August 25.  Together, they collectively brainstormed ways in which each will work to increase civic engagement and voting participation for the upcoming 2016 general elections.  But the long-term goal is to build a South Omaha that is more involved in the political process. Commitments made by each organization include: registering clients/members of these institutions; staff trainings; and canvassing with the Heartland Worker’s Center.
